About Us
A local take on classic Texas fare, located on the historic downtown celina square
connected to the community
The Forge 1912 is a family-owned steakhouse located in the heart of the Historic Downtown Celina Square in North Dallas-Fort Worth, Texas. Beginning in 1912, our building was established as the location of Celina’s blacksmith shop, and it would have been a hub for gathering as area residents got wagons repaired or came to Grover Sheets to make tools for their farms. It’s not hard to envision hours spent talking to friends right here in this space, and that’s exactly the vision we have for The Forge 1912.
We are Celina residents committed to creating a community gathering place where our friends, neighbors, and the extended community can gather to enjoy Texas-raised grass-fed Prime Angus steak, burgers, sandwiches, seafood, salads and much more.–paired with a great wine, your favorite beer, or a classic cocktail.

A NOTE FROM THE ETHRIDGE FAMILY
Brian, Kristen, Carrie, Linnie, and Bennett Ethridge
The best part about Celina is that this town has a big heart for the people who call it home—including our family. When we first thought up The Forge 1912, we wanted to do two things: preserve the history of this amazing building that has been at the heart of Celina for more than 110 years, as well as create a restaurant that we’d want our own family to eat at over and over again.
As native Texans (our kids are seventh-generation Texans!) we have a deep love for the Lone Star State and knew we could create a restaurant around the idea of both eating healthy and eating local.
To that end, we run The Forge 1912 based the following core tenets:
- We source local or Texas-based food suppliers, where possible.
- We are proud to offer Texas-raised grass-fed Prime Angus steaks.
- We prioritize food which is grown to organic standards.
- We put pink salt on every table because it’s full of minerals.
- We do not prepare foods using seed oils, we prefer tallow, olive oil and avocado oil.
- We do not pull entrees out of the freezer—everything is prepared fresh.
- We present our guests with a classic wines, beers, and cocktails–and some Texas favorites
- We partner with local Celina businesses where we can.
- We offer the opportunity for you to host your own private event in our Powder Room, named for our family’s donkey, Powder.
- We look forward to helping you create a one-of-a-kind dining experiences in our Chef’s Table room.
- We showcase the history of Celina and this historic building which housed Celina’s original blacksmith shop, which opened in 1912
- We give back to Celina and surrounding communities through our Forged in Community program, and we invite every guest to take the opportunity to join us in making North Collin and Grayson Counties the best place in Texas to live, dine, and raise a family.
- And above all, we believe in faith, family, friends, and the power of a shared meal around the dinner table.
We promise to feed your family like we feed our own.
Thank you for being a part of our dream and our Forge community!
